Lenny Dave (Founder and President of Lenmar Communications) is a nationally recognized creative thinker, humorist, speaker and author. He is Past President of AATH - the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. Lenny is also co-founder of NCSA - the National Collegiate Speakers Association.
Over the past 25+ years, Lenny has addressed a variety of audiences ranging from college student leaders to corporate executives to cancer patients to 'active seniors' to parents of high school students.
Campus Activities Magazine has twice nominated Lenny as "Speaker of the Year." He is also the recipient of 14 'showcases' from NACA and APCA, the two leading campus entertainment organizations. Lenny is co-author of "Let Your Leadership Speak: How to Lead and Be Heard" and "Choose Courage Over Fear: Decisions That Determine Your Destiny." Lenny has also contributed to a tasty, new collegiate textbook entitled "Culinary Improvisation!"
Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Lenny founded LENMAR Communications in 1987. His background in the field of creative communications, combined with his talent as a motivational public speaker, have enabled Lenny to serve a diverse client base.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Lenny is a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). Lenny credits one of his favorite college professors for opening his eyes to seeing the FUN one could have in pursuing his passion... that laughter and learning are a powerful, effective combination.
The philosopher Henry David Thoreau once observed, 'Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.' Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to Lenny's life, as he has come to realize a 'dream-come-true' not once... but three times!
First: Growing up with baseball 'in his blood,' Lenny's first job after college was in the Cincinnati Reds front office. For two seasons, he interviewed players, co-produced post-season highlight films, and broadcast the daily 'Cincinnati Reds Report.'
Next: Having seriously researched the lives and careers of comedy legends 'The Marx Brothers' (Harpo in particular), Lenny was invited to spend a nostalgic day with Mrs. Harpo Marx in California.
And last, but certainly not least: Having derived life-long inspiration from America's space program, Lenny recently met Apollo 11's Neil Armstrong, the first astronaut to set foot on the moon.
As if all that's not interesting enough... even though Lenny is not yet listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, he is believed to be the only professional speaker in the world who has also caught 14 foul balls at Major League Baseball games!
